Emily Bezaire
Fine Artist and Illustrator
I was born in Essex County, Ontario, Canada and returned home to my native roots in 2015 after a twenty-three year interval in the Southern United States.
I’ve been working professionally as a freelance artist since 2006, following in the footsteps of my father, Bruce Bezaire, who has enjoyed a successful career as a fine artist and art professor. I’ve benefited from my Dad’s guidance, both informally and while taking courses at Belhaven College in Jackson, Mississippi and O’More College of Design in Franklin, Tennessee. We also collaborated on a graphic novel adaptation of the biblical book of Jonah, a labour of love that holds a special place in both of our hearts.
I’ve produced many commissions for clients over the years in my chosen media of graphite pencil and India ink. It’s always a pleasure to work with people to realize their visions. I also enjoy exploiting my own surroundings and experiences to create work that expresses my unique aesthetic and point of view. Read on for more highlights from my career…
